About Love
(Abstract)
Prof. Dr. Mario Drajev
In the paper are discussed the main characteristics of Love, considered as:
- A biologically programmed model of behaviour providing the existence of the life,
- An ethical principle concerning human relations, based on compassion, charity and selfless benevolence,
- A creative principle, moving the constructive forces, regarded as antithesis to destruction, degradation and entropy.
It is pointed out that according to the different religious systems Love can be accepted only within some restricted limits (e.g. ethnical – by Judaism, religious – by Islam). In Buddhism and Christianity, however, Love is universally accepted and confessed as a guiding principle without any ethnical, social and other restrictions.
In the paper it is highlighted that the deepening ecological, economic, social, ethnical and religious contradictions can be overcome only by adopting a new stereotype of behaviour – especially to the young generation – based of fundamental spiritual values, such as Goodness, Truth and Beauty, all guided by Love.
